Puzzling | Canvas
a therapeutic artwork that represents having a complex puzzle and trying to figure out the correct approach. Less figuratively, the meaning is exploring my psychosis (mental health) in a way thats showing it’s an in your face experience, by the colour scheme being so vibrant. The composition is confusing to understand as a whole, it is both meaningful (with context) and meaningless (The art is not a detailed depiction that is obvious). There’s also no clear focal point which is disorienting showing the effects of psychosis.
My experience of life hasn’t been one for promoting confidence, which created a feeling of being small. The therapeutic art journey made me have passion and hope, which was taken from me as a result of my first psychotic episode; the depths experienced felt like being shipwrecked stranded on a beach…
Steps were taken for building myself up as i’d been destroyed, which eventually lead to an opportunity that at first felt like my wildest dreams had come true..Anyyyways, it was kinda a doorway for a huge learning curve and took me to a place that I weren't expecting! Unfortunately my recovery didn’t last and I experienced round 2 of a psychotic episode which re-activated my artistic skills that I felt i’d lost for years as a result of round 1.
